Why an In-House Solution is Best When Considering Dental Implants
Whether you’re missing one tooth, several teeth, or have a mouth full of dentures, you’ve been on the radar for many tooth replacement solutions. And thanks to advances in dental technology, you’ve no doubt heard about dental implants and how they’ve revolutionized tooth replacement.
But where do you go from there? Flip open the phone book or do an implants Google search and you’ll find numerous so-called implant experts in your local area, especially here in the Los Angeles region. Well, rest easy because South Bay Dentistry and Orthodontics is about to walk you through the path from considering dental implants all the way to biting, chewing, speaking, and smiling with complete confidence.
Our solution is one we offer right here in our office: the in-house solution. What exactly does this mean? Let’s walk you through it.
Step 1: The Consultation
This may be the most important step of all because it allows you to determine who you will team up with for your new dental implants. Our recommendation: don’t pay for a dental implant consultation. South Bay Dentistry and Orthodontics always offers free no-obligation dental implant consultations. It’s important that you be walked through the entire treatment plan. Plus, our doctors need to know your goals and expectations through dental implants treatment. That’s why this first consultation is so important – important enough that we do not charge for it.
From the consultation, the next step in the in-house solution (all of which takes place in our office) is planning.
Step 2: Treatment Planning
This happens concurrently with step one. Once you’ve decided to move forward with dental implant treatment, a plan is customized just for you. This may include use of advanced surgical technology to pre-plan implant placement well before it takes place. This ensures very predictable, successful results. Which segways us directly into…
Step 3: Placement
At this point, your in-house specialist is ready to insert your implants. The procedure takes place right here in our office and will require oral sedation. This ensures you’ll have a comfortable experience without being completely knocked out. Plus you may not ever remember receiving treatment. At around the time of placement, you may require some healing time before temporary restorations are placed onto your implants. This gives you a chance to get used to your new implants while our doctors monitor your tooth replacement.
Step 4: Permanent Restoration
After you’ve accustomed to your dental implants, our in-house cosmetic and restorative dentists, and our dental lab technicians, will work with you to design and fabricate your brand new crowns, bridges, or dentures (depending on your case). Keep in mind that throughout all these steps, you’re visiting only one office and working closely with a single dental staff. This is the in-house solution in action. You’re almost ready to enjoy revitalized teeth. Once designed and fabricated, your new restorations are permanently affixed to your dental implants in one visit.
Step 5: Follow-Up
After receiving your restored permanent implants, you’ll want to keep scheduling regular dental hygiene visits, which act as follow-ups to the initial procedure. This makes sure your mouth is healthy and your new teeth will last you for years to come.
